Quite what Old Tom Morris would have made of the technology bleeping and flashing inside St Andrews Links Golf Academy is anybody's guess.
Technology in the old maestro's day amounted to no more than the upgrade of a hickory shaft or swapping of a feathered ball for a gutta-percha.
But at St Andrews Links Golf Academy they've taken technology to new heights and in the process provided a glimpse of coaching in the future with some of the most advanced ball-tracking, digital analysis and ultrasound putting scan systems available.
It's a heady cocktail of technology with plasma screens and computer displays giving a NASA space edge feel to the academy's four instruction studios.
Making sense of it all is Steve North, the academy's PGA Director of Instruction, and his team of instructors who work with players of all abilities from beginners right through to elite players.
